About NoticeCheck: what it does and how it works
NoticeCheck reads an IRS notice or letter on the taxpayer's own phone, identifies the notice among more than 400 IRS notices, shows the deadline, the amount and what to check, and prepares a response letter and a phone script.
Who it is for
Taxpayers in the United States who received a letter from the IRS, such as a CP2000, CP14, CP504, CP11 or Letter 5071C.
How it works
- Notice explanations come from the public IRS page for each notice (irs.gov, works of the U.S. government).
- Checks follow public IRS rules: the 60 day rule for math error notices, first-time penalty abatement, Collection Due Process hearings, cost basis on stock and crypto sales.
- The letter is read in the browser with open-source text recognition. Nothing is uploaded.
Price
Checking is free. The ready-to-send letter and the phone script cost $49, paid once, with a 30-day money-back guarantee. There is no subscription.
